Inexpensive Digital Cameras

The Joys of Inexpensive Digital Cameras.

Digital cameras have revolutionized photography in the last ten or fifteen years. Never before has it been easier to indulge in a new hobby or document their lives with a visual record. Digital cameras have lead to digital pictures, which are incredibly easy to share and distribute thanks to recordable compact discs and file-sharing and e-mail on the Internet. So, you might be considering buying a new digital camera. Congratulations, here are some tips as you shop for inexpensive digital cameras.

Inexpensive digital cameras are everywhere. They are also called point and shoot cameras, highlighting just how easy they are to use. If you are unfamiliar with digital cameras or are intimidated by a lot of technology, do not worry. Inexpensive digital cameras are very simple and easy to operate. Literally, all you have to do is point at the object or person you want a picture of, and push the shutter button, pretty much what you had to do with your old film camera.

While taking pictures with inexpensive digital cameras are a snap, it is with picture storage that inexpensive digital cameras are such a huge upgrade over traditional film cameras. First of all, instead of being limited to a roll of film that might have twenty four or thirty six exposures, digital cameras have small memory cards. Small being in size, not in storage capacity which goes well into the hundreds, even with the most inexpensive digital cameras.

Sharing your pictures is just as easy as well. Connecting your digital camera to your computer is simple, usually just a USB connection. A few minutes to let the driver software (which allows the camera and the computer to "communicate) load, and voila! Your great pictures are now picture files on your computer that you can view, print or share with friends and family.

So how do you choose among all of the inexpensive digital cameras. Honestly, at the price range that you are looking for, not one of the cameras is exceptionally better than the other. They are all designed for exactly what you are looking for – a basic and reliable camera that is easy to operate. For that reason, I would suggest whichever camera you are most comfortable with, or with a particular brand that you have had good experiences with before.

Inexpensive digital cameras have revolutionized the act of photography and are here to stay. A few minutes, and you will be taking, storing and sharing great pictures of anything your heart desires!

Buying Digital Cameras

Features to consider before buying a Camera.

Digital photography is getting better and better as time passes. Today, the best digital cameras offer high-resolution graphics, sophisticated controls, high zooming levels and better technology that make taking pictures easy. Buying digital cameras however can be a bit challenging or frustrating when it comes down to choice. Labeled in mega pixels and storage capacities, you may find yourself having a hard time making educated decisions. Here I will break down the essentials to look for when buying digital cameras and hopefully it will go a long way in helping you to get the right camera.

One of the trickiest questions in digital photography is; how many mega pixels should my camera have? While there is no simple answer to it, a short answer to this question is sticking to a camera with nothing less than 6 mega pixels. Having more pixels gives one greater flexibility when it comes to printing pictures and cropping them. High quality prints let cropping to be done much closer and get better prints can be obtained as well. Whether it is for printing or for web display, the extra mega pixels will make the picture more detailed and sharper. When buying digital cameras always consider this as one of the most important features to check out.

Consider also the size, weight and design of the camera. While small cameras offer convenience, they are also limited when it comes to controls. In addition, their small design means that certain settings are somewhat trying. Consider also the zoom lens of the camera. A camera with a more powerful optical zoom will have higher resolution pictures and this means that it will not be necessary to magnify the subject and then crop the image. Ensure also that the lens comes with good image stabilization otherwise it will take blurry pictures especially in sports photography. Before buying digital cameras it is also good to take note of the fact that some vendors combine the digital zoom and the optical zoom to give cameras much higher zoom ratings. Ensure that optical zoom is much higher since it will offer maximum resolution and focus to give your pictures sharpness and clarity. Digital zoom simply magnifies pixels.

Other features to consider when buying digital cameras is the storage capacity measured in Megabytes, the scene modes available, the LCD and viewfinder and Wi-Fi. Another important consideration is the battery life. Depending on what you really want out of camera, you have a good feature-set to use when buying digital cameras.

Digital Cameras Maintenance

January 17th, 2009

Digital camers are cosly, maintaining them would retain them as a life time asset. This is all the more important in the case of refurbished digital cameras

Caring Tips for Your Digital Camera

Digital cameras are in vogue and have taken over other conventional ways of shooting. Digital cameras have an edge over the film cameras with their instant picture viewing and extended storage space.

Caring Tips for Your Digital Camera Most of the digital cameras have auto-focusing which enables even a kid to take decent photography. The LCD viewer helps in getting the right composition of the image. The preview of the images clicked allows keeping the best one from the lot and deleting the rest thus saving on space for more clicks.

Digital cameras don’t come cheap. With the kind of features and utility levels of a digital camera a good one costs above ten thousand. Good brands included Canon digital camera, Nikon digital camera, Sony digital camera etc. A digital SLR (Single Lens Reflex) would start from thirty thousand and run into lakhs. Digital SLR’s are hi-end cameras with professional features and good image quality. When one spends so much on a good quality digital camera taking care of it is also very important. All parts of the camera should be taken care of and there are equipments available in the market for the same. These equipments are one time moderate investment in keeping your expensive camera in good condition.

Camera parts like the lens, viewfinder and the LCD screen are the most essential elements of a camera. These parts should be regularly cleaned and taken care of. There is a blower available in the market which helps to dust off the dirt on the lens. One should never touch the lens, the viewfinder or the LCD display with fingers. The blower helps in removing the dirt and a lens cleaning solution helps in removing the sticky particles on the lens or viewfinder. The cameras lens cover should be put on when not in use this is the best way to protect your cameras eyes. Once the lens and viewfinder are cleaned the camera assures clear pictures and good view of the image.

Digital camera batteries should be taken out when not in use. If you intend to store your camera for a long time the batteries should be removed and on the next usage they should be charged and then used. Batteries discharge over a period of time and using them without recharging or storing them may hamper your camera and its performance. Also the camera should be stored in a cool dry place. Keeping your expensive Canon digital camera inside your car in summers will hamper the camera and you will have to bear a heavy price for your carelessness. Camera accessories like the extendable memory card should also be taken care off. The card should not be taken out while transferring pictures and should be stored properly when not in use. This enables good performance of the card otherwise it could be corrupted and will turn useless. Thus taking mediocre care of your digital camera and spending a little amount on its care would help in maintaining and making your camera viable for years together.

SLR Digital Cameras

January 16th, 2009

SLR Digital Cameras come with a hefty price tag. If you can find a factory refurbished Olympus camera, it woul be at half the price, and a great buy. Top of the Line Digital Cameras by: Warren Lynch 7eb 1194 If you think that digital cameras are for snapshots only, then you obviously haven’t heard about SLR (Single Lens Reflex) digital cameras. SLR is a type of camera which has one lens for composing the frame and capturing the image. SLR cameras are also known as TTL (through-the-lens) cameras. An SLR camera displays an image through the viewfinder that is exactly the same image as the camera sees and is exactly the same image that the camera is going to record when you release the shutter. An SLR camera provides a much more accurate image through the viewfinder than a digital camera produces on its LCD because the LCD does not faithfully reproduce the colors and light intensity that is actually entering the camera. The top of the line SLR digital cameras rival the best film-based SLR cameras and are designed for serious hobbyists and professional photographers. Digital SLR cameras are much larger, bulkier, and heavier than traditional digital cameras. The SLR uses a mirror that is located behind the lens as well as an optical device known as a pentaprism to channel the light that enters the camera’s lens to the optical finder. When you release the shutter the mirror moves out of the way and the image is captured in the same way as any digital camera. The better digital SLR cameras let you mount different lenses just like their film-based counterparts do. Many of your existing 35mm lens may be compatible with a digital SLR. If you have a large lens collection then you should definitely look for a digital SLR that is compatible with them. Because the digital SLR cameras are more professional, they come with a hefty price tag. A 6-megapixel Nikon D100 runs around $2,000 and the 11-megapixel Canon 1D runs near $8,000. This is for the camera body only and does not include a lens! This is why I mentioned earlier that you should look for a digital camera that will mount your existing lens collection. Just a good quality zoom lens can run you at least $3,000 and can climb as high as $10,000 depending upon the features! Of course, there are also starter-priced digital SLR cameras available. The Olympus E-20N, a 5.0-megapixel SLR camera, which includes a non-replaceable lens that is capable of duplicating a 35 mm to 140 mm lens, runs around $3500. Olympus SLR Digital Camera E-20NThese prices are not out of line if you make your living shooting pictures. You can actually create additional revenue streams when you shoot digital pictures, instead of film-based ones, by offering image enhancement options and all sorts of digital FX options for thee prospective bride and groom’s on their treasured wedding album. If all of this sounds a bit too expensive for your blood, then you’ll probably find all of the digital camera that you’ll ever need way down in the $99 to $500 price range and you’ll never have to worry about buying extra lenses. Digital SLR cameras aren’t for everyone but, if they’re for you, then there are plenty of models to look at. SOme of the best are made by Canon, Olympus and Nikon which are familiar names in the photography world. Warren Lynch has been shooting commercial photography since 1979.
